Under the threat of Coach Wimshurst fines system, the Ladies 1's squad were on time and prepared to take Bournemouth to task…despite an emergency Tesco visit for one of the squad for an essential item of clothing - 'every little helps' has never been more appropriate!

Following a few recent losses and off the back of a hard-fought game last week, the team were determined to get back to winning ways. With a solid back line providing the stability the team needed, Anne Eadie and Dr Zoe Wimshurst began weaving their magic in midfield and it wasn't long before debut Freya Watkinson showed off the skills that led to her selection, causing Bournemouth's defence all sorts of problems.

The first two goals came from penalty corners, courtesy of the defensive smash hit of Em Crowcroft and at half time, Captain Katie Pond (KP) wanted more of the same in the second half - so no-one was more surprised when she scored an absolute corker off a penalty corner. The magic didn't end there when Dr Zoe used some anti-skill to foil the Bournemouth defences and made a pass in the D that trickled in for the fourth goal, ending the game 4-0 win to Pompey!

Next week sees the team at home playing Salisbury and ensuring the magic winning formula continues…
