The first half started chaotically with both teams having chances at either end of the pitch, chances came from our wide players driving at the opposition defenders not letting them have a moments rest. This came from incredible dribbling from Alberto Browning-Sanchez, Man of the match Lucas Carkeek-Blakley and Dylan Houghton turning defenders into snails with their pace.
Portsmouth had multiple chances early on, before scoring from a baseline pass from Jamie Moore to Houghton who neatly tucked the ball away at the far post.
Havant 5s had some strong chances however the Portsmouth backline were reluctant to let them through.
After the to and fro from either team half time inevitably arrived. David Johns and Lee Harris used their inspiring words to make us think about doing the basic passes instead of running with the ball. The usual restricting of the team, a lot of honest words to players.
The second half got underway with Portsmouth looking to keep momentum going, with attacking wide and defending narrow. Goals 2 and 3 were scored by Louis Gaskin and Houghton, both coming from quick passing moves. Goal number 4 came from Carkeek-Blakley using his tennis skills to tuck the ball away in a very crowded Havant D.
Portsmouth didn’t stop there, they had a couple of more chances that were unable to be taken. The more noted of the chances was a 3 on 1, which resulted in James Payne striking the ball at the near post, hitting the oncoming keepers pads.
That was the final chance of the game, Portsmouth look into there next fixture at Hamble 2s to keep the form going.
