We welcomed our new goalkeeper to the team as we warmed up and discussed strategy.

The game started at a fast pace and while we began with most of the attacking play they managed to slip past us on a break and scored first.

Within five minutes Michelle Hughes had equalised for us and we were back on track.

Another break by Gamble soon after resulted in another goal against us and so the score remained for the rest of the first half despite our repeated attempts on their goal.

After half time we renewed our attack and it paid dividends with a goal from our captain Hayley Lawton half way through the second half. We then held them off to retain a 2-2 draw as the final result.

The match saw our team produce plenty of passing triangles, some nice long balls and tackles and lots of drop shots as practiced in training last week. Keeper Alisha Page had some good saves interspersed between some long quiet stretches.

For next time we just need to work on our finishing, particularly on short corners when we should have capitalised, but overall as a team we played really well. Roll on next week!
